Date: March 23, 2010 Reported by: Katrina Wessman Email: kwessman@abc15.com GRAND CANYON, AZ Officials say two hikers missing in the Grand Canyon have been found and are OK. National Park Service spokeswoman Robin Martin said the two 25-year-olds were found around 3 p.m. at the Colorado River near Royal Arch. Martin said the men were in good shape when they were flown by helicopter to the South Rim. Rangers began searching for the men after they failed to return from a hike earlier this week. Grand Canyon National Park rangers searched the South Bass and Royal Arch areas west of the Hermits Rest area on the park's south rim for 25-year-old Isaac Rabicoff and 25-year-old Michael Wu, both from Kansas. Rabicoff and Wu were visiting Grand Canyon National Park together and obtained a backcountry permit from the National Park Service to hike in those areas beginning on March 16 and returning on March 20. On March 22, a member of one of the men's families reported them missing after they failed to return to Kansas as planned. Martin said the men apparently underestimated the time to complete their hike. Web Page created by Lorenzo Caminante (Larry Walker in Español). Copyright 2001--2010. All rights reserved.
