BACKPACKING TRIP INFORMATION

Approximate itinerary:

  1 Tue., May 15th North of Flagstaff. Camp overnight in cinders.
  2 Wed., May 16th Esplanade Use area. Don't walk on cryptobiotic soils! Remove your water cache when leaving. Must stay on itinerary.
  3 Thu., May 17th Upper Tapeats Campsite. Thunder River is closed to camping; camp in sites at Tapeats Creek. Do NOT throw trash in toilets! Must stay on itinerary.
  4 Fri., May 18th Lower Tapeats Campsite.
Camping area is along the Colorado River on downriver side of Tapeats Creek. When in proximity of the Colorado River, please urinate in the river. Bury human waste away from beach areas and pack out all toilet paper.
  5 Sat., May 19th Surprise Valley Use Area.
Must stay on itinerary. This is a dry camp.
  6 Sun., May 20th Esplanade Use area.

  8 Tue., May 22nd Hiking out.
Drive back to Phoenix.
